Queen Sofia Palace of the Arts (in spanish Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía) has over 40,000 square meters hosting four spaces for opera, music, ballet and theatre. Palace of the Arts was opened in 2005 and was designed by valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, as all the entire construction of the City of Arts and Sciences. It is the Valencia House of Opera.
The building has a distinctive feature that is the lenticular shape, developed under a metal waterfall supported by two supports, leaving the east side of the cover fully cantilevered. Its shape reminds that of a fish.
Queen Sofia Palace of the Arts is nearly entirely covered by white concrete, that covers the major structural supports. Mosaic is the second material used to cover the magnificent Palace of the Arts.
The Queen Sofia Palace of the Arts Sofia can be visited inside. You only need to contact with the Palace and organize a tour. You can visit the four rooms: Main Hall Auditorium, Aula Magistral and Teatre Martín i Soler and lasts 60 minutes.
If you do not know what to do in Valencia, visit the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía or go to one of the operas and events offered throughout the year, will not leave you indifferent.
