Mestalla is Valencia Football Club’s stadium. It was opened in 1923 with a match between Valencia Football Club and Levante.
Mestalla stadium has undergone many changes since its opening because of the number of seats. The stadium now has 55,000 seats, but when it was built there were only 17,000.
For a time it was known also as Luis Casanova stadium, the name of the former president of the club. But the latter, overwhelmed by the importance of his name, asked to call it Mestella stadium again.
Mestalla has inside both a museum and both, the stadium and the museum, are available to visitors through guided tours. You will meet the press room, the locker room players and go through the tunnel to the field while you can hear the fans. You meet the most interesting areas of the stadium, the history and the most important stories of the Valencia Club de Fútbol.
