So, you’ve booked your trip and you’re on the way to beautiful Valencia. Great decision! After Madrid and Barcelona, Valencia is the third largest city in Spain. With its stunning coastline, amazing gastronomy, impressive architecture, history and culture, there’s plenty to keep you busy.
You’ve taken care of your transport and accommodation, and you’re ready to see the sights. But what about money? Have you changed your currency into euros yet?
You can always rely on your debit or credit card, but this option really depends on how much your bank charges for exchange rates and commission while abroad. (Tip: it’s usually more beneficial for the bank). Sometimes it’s also a smart idea to have cash to hand, to keep track of funds, or pay for that ice cream or horchata on the beach.
If you plan your travels well, you may have already changed your dollars, pounds, roubles or kroners etc. into euros. If not, don’t worry. Love Valencia has uncovered one of the best kept secrets for changing currency in the city…
The Store Manager at Ria Money Transfer & Currency Exchange in Valencia says that doing your homework before you travel is a great way to save money and get the most out of your trip.
“Buying currency at the destination is also a good option for many travellers if they can’t purchase it beforehand. Just be sure to avoid the airport kiosks as their rates are often lower and their fees are often the highest,” she explains.
Ria is a leading money transfer company, globally, with 30 years’ experience and a huge network in around 150 countries. In 2003, the company opened a store in Valencia at Calle Convento Jerusalén 9, which is still the base of their operations in Valencia. The Ria store in Valencia currently allows customers to change more than 45 global currencies into euros.
“We’re easy to get to, close to the North Railway Terminal [Estación del Norte] which has lots of transport links, and the famous Plaza de Toros,” says the Store Manager.
“Ria never charges customers any commission for currency exchange, and we aim to offer the best exchange rates in the city, every day. We also offer special rates for larger amounts and if customers have any currency left after their holiday, we will buy it back at almost the same rate,” she affirms.
The store recently underwent a makeover and is sporting a fresh new look. It’s also open 7 days a week until late, making it more convenient to get to.
Veronica adds that Ria also offers customers mobile top ups along with money transfer services. “If customers need to send or receive money from abroad, we are very happy to look after them. Most transactions can be paid using cash, credit or debit card. We look forward to welcoming Love Valencia readers to the store and helping to make their experience in this beautiful city a memorable one.”
