Are you visiting Valencia during fall and you don’t know what to do? Take a tour in Valencia and discover the hidden gems that you would never see yourself. Many years ago, the Romans laid the foundation and Valencia has improved a lot ever since, by following the trends and adapting to the changes. The look of this style, the gothic style, also left an influence on the buildings and monuments in the city.
We start our suggestion of a tour in the historical center of Valencia, where we are going to find various monuments which all contain elements of the architecture gothic style. Monuments, such as La Lonja (the Silk Market in Valencia), the Cathedral of Valencia, the inside of one of the doors of the Cathedral of Valencia, the bell tower of the Cathedral, which is the Miguelete. The same goes for the church at Plaza de la Reina, the Santa Catalina Church.
In the neighborhood del Carmen, you can walk through the narrow streets and find the Quart Towers and the Serrano Towers, which are very historical pieces in the city of Valencia. If you walk a bit further, you will come closer to the Convent of Carmen.
Of the many bridges Valencia has, the Puente de los Serranos and the Puente de la Trinidad have the essentials of the Gothic architecture.
Other buildings that are built in a gothic style are the church of the San Juan Hospital, a building called las Atarazanas, which is now being used for exhibitions, and the public buildings such as the Generalitat Palace, the Palacio de Benicarló (Palace of the Borja), the Almudin and the Casa Palacio de la Scala.
