Colón Market is located on Calle Jorge Juan (Jorge Juan Street)- where it has been converted into one of the most visited places in Valencia. It was designed and constructed between 1914 and 1916 by architect Francisco Mora Berenguer. In 2003 a remodel took place that cost over 30 million euros.
The Council of Valencia decided to restore the building and put AUMSA (a local restoration company) in charge of the building. The criteria that arose included area that offered more parking for local neighbors in the area and visitors of the market. So, if you are going to Valencia’s city center for any reason with a car and aren’t sure where to park, you can make use of this parking close by!
Thanks to the remodel, Colón Market has converted into a go-to spot for finding diverse food options in Valencia. From Japanese food to the Valencian chef Ricard Camarena who recently won the National award for the best chef in all of Spain. Not to mention, this market also is a space that holds events of all types.
